Welcome to Trojan Nation!

At Terra Linda High School, we pride ourselves on being more than just a school—we’re a thriving, supportive, and spirited community where every student has a place to belong and an opportunity to shine. Whether you’re cheering on our teams at Friday night games, participating in our incredible events, or leading initiatives that make a difference, Terra Linda is a place where school spirit runs deep, and the student body supports each other. 

What is ASB?
ASB stands for Associated Student Body (ASB or Student Council) and we are student government that plays a vital role in connecting students to the heart of our community. As a hub for leadership, collaboration, and innovation, ASB is committed to:

• Bringing Our Community Together: We create meaningful experiences through dynamic events and activities that unite students, staff, and families.
• Fostering Leadership: ASB operates as a model of government, providing students with hands-on experience in decision-making, government procedures, teamwork, and advocacy.
• Perfecting Event Production: From dances to rallies to fundraisers, we equip students with real-world skills to plan, organize, and execute unforgettable events.
• Career and Technical Education (CTE): Students can earn a distinction in Events and Management, gaining career-ready expertise that sets them apart.

Incoming 8th Graders – Join ASB!
Are you ready to lead and make a difference at Terra Linda? The ASB program is highly competitive, with limited space available. However, even if you are not enrolled in the class, there are plenty of ways to get involved with student government and contribute to the vibrant spirit of our school. From joining committees to attending events and class meetings, every Trojan has a role to play in our community!

Please note incoming 8^th graders are unable be in MSEL and ASB their freshmen year. Unfortunately students will have to make a choice between the two programs. There are times when students from MSEL are able to join ASB (space permitting) however it is unlikely. 

Key Dates for Incoming Freshmen:

• APPLICATIONS Due: Wednesday, February 10th
• Collaboration/Interview Held: March 9^th or March 11^th *Must attend one of these events
• Enrollment Notifications: After Spring Break
• Mandatory Dates: In-service training May (Date TBD), Mandatory Retreat 8/10-8/12 *Must be in town for retreat

Enrolled Students – How to Join ASB
Are you already a Terra Linda student and looking to get involved in ASB? You can join in one of two ways:

1. Run for an Elected Position: Represent your peers and make decisions that shape our school! Keep in mind this process is a combination of application, collaboration days, previous history in ASB (if that applies), and campaigning. Being in ASB prior does not guarantee your continuation in the program. IMPORTANT LINKS AND DATES COMING SOON but MANDATORY Training Days are in May, CADA Camp is July 17-July 20 at UC Santa Barbara, and the ASB Retreat is August 10-12^th. Freshman Orientation is Friday August 13^th. 

2. Apply for a Commissioner Position: Lead as part of a specialized team within ASB by interviewing for a Commissioner role. Keep in mind this process also involves evaluation of application, collaboration days, and previous history in ASB. Mark Your Calendar!
Don’t miss our Informational Meeting on Tuesday, February 2, during lunch to go over all the details about joining ASB, from running for office to becoming a Commissioner. This is your chance to learn more and ask any questions you may have.

Make sure you are in town August 10-12^th for our ASB Retreat and for August 13^th for Freshman Orientation!

Get Involved!
There are so many ways to participate in student government and make your voice heard! Join us for Class Meetings every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month to share your ideas, get updates, and learn how you can contribute. Elections are just around the corner—don’t miss your chance to run for a position and help shape the future of our school!
