8th Grade Parent Information

monday February 6th 8th Grade Parent night

January 2017

Dear Eighth Grade Parents and Friends:

It is my pleasure to invite you to attend our Eighth Grade Parent Night on Monday, February 6, 2017. The presentation will be held in our Performance Center at Terra Linda High School beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Spanish translation will be provided.

Registration materials will be distributed this evening. In addition, we will provide an overview of our curricular and co-curricular programs, course selection procedures, and specific policies and practices. Administrators and counselors will be available to answer specific questions. If you are the parent of a current TL student, you may pick up the materials the day of the event, or have the student’s sibling pick them up at the office.

In preparation for the evening, please know that all incoming families must formally register with the San Rafael City Schools District.  Individual enrollment packets will be distributed to all families during the course of the evening’s presentation. In order to facilitate an efficient enrollment process, we ask that all families return these packets on or before Friday, March 24th

The evening’s presentation will include an opportunity to meet the Terra Linda High School Administration and Counseling teams, discussions of our many and varied College Preparatory, Honors and Advanced Placement course options and a preliminary introduction to the concept of a “four-year” academic plan.  In addition, we will discuss the specific ways in which new students may join our many exemplary co-curricular programs (athletics, clubs and activities).  Further, incoming students and their family may wish to review our online Curriculum Guide, located on the Counseling Department section of our website:  www.terralindahighschool.net

As students (and their families) contemplate the transition from middle school to high school, there are often many associated questions, concerns and anxieties.  Terra Linda High School is committed to providing your sons and daughters with an exciting, enriching, and rigorous educational experience.  It is our hope that we answer your many questions and alleviate any possible concerns during the course of our presentation. We look forward to you joining us on Monday, February 6th at 6:00 p.m.

Sincerely,
